Bromine

Bromine is an alternative to chlorine. Pool owners use bromine because it is less irritating to skin and eyes and does not burn off from sunlight. However, to add it to pool water you must have an automatic 'brominator' feeder installed. The feeder dispenses bromine from the tablets that you fill in the brominator. Bromine also requires a separate shock which improves water clarity, re-activates used bromine and cuts any bromine odor.
